Though you may not realise it there’s a saga of behind-the-scenes gossip in regards to the first trailer for Aquaman. The film, due for release in December, wrapped shooting some time ago now. First there were rumours of a strong performance at a test screening. Those rumours were quickly followed by further rumours that the film had tested badly.
This was followed by ‘insider knowledge’ that Warner Bros. would surprise fans at WonderCon with a trailer and appearance by director James Wan and star Jason Momoa.
Those rumours were then rebuffed when it was ‘revealed’ that Warner Bros. has pulled the trailer at the last minute.
Not one to rise to fan gossip Wan has taken to Twitter to explain the absence of a trailer himself:

There will always be a vocal set of fans who will believe this to be damage control on the part of the director. We here at GYCO think it’s hard to argue with Wan about this being a VFX heavy film which Warner Bros. will want to get right!
Aquaman stars Jason Momoa in the title role of Arthur Curry/Aquaman. The film also stars Amber Heard as Mera; Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe as Vulko; Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry; Dolph Lundgren as Nereus; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta; with Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master; and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman as Atlanna.
The film is being produced by Peter Safran, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
The film hits cinemas December 21, 2018.
