‘Shazam’ confirmed for April 2019 release


Warner Bros. has confirmed the Shazam release date will be April 5, 2019. In a positive turn of events for the DC Films franchise it is currently the only film due for release on that date.

The date had been widely reported for some time but had yet to be confirmed by the studio itself. The film is currently in production at Pinewood Studios in Toronto.

Shazam is directed by David F. Sandberg and written by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemk. The film stars Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, and Mark Strong as the villain Doctor Sivana.

The film hits cinemas April 5, 2019.
