‘New Mutants’ shifts release from April 2018 to Feb 2019

New Mutants

Whilst Fox deals with life in limbo as the its takeover deal from Disney goes through there have been a few changes in the X-verse. This years New Mutants has found that its release date has slipped from April of this year to February 22, 2018.

Whilst the party line from the studio is to avoid X-Men films overlapping in cinemas reports point towards more unsettling news. The Wrap is reporting that studio execs are unhappy with the film. Marketed as a horror it seems the studio feels the final product doesn’t quite like up to the atmosphere. Could the release date move be part of a plan to add more horror elements to the story?
