A new rumour to come from the DC Extended Universe this week. The Wrap reported that Gareth Evans – director of The Raid – would be taking on a Deathstroke movie with Joe Manganiello set to star.

Manganiello had been set to appear as the character in Ben Affleck’s directed solo-Batman film. Affleck famously stepped aside to make room for Matt Reeves to take over. With the change in leadership it seemed that Manganiello may no longer be a factor in that film. Now it seems that Warner Bros. have even bigger plans for Deathstroke.

The Hollywood Reporter then appeared to confirm the story with their own sources. Evans was quick to post an intriguing image to his Instagram account which fuelled the rumours.

I'm 37yrs old…. well 37 and 1/2….
